                               Artist  Statement

" Having a keen sense of ethnic aesthetics and design is an asset in how I create art. The passion I have for color, patterns , textiles and the use of it, influences my compositions and the distinct style of my artwork.

  Being able to feel the texture, as well as visualize the infusion of colors through various recognizable images, shapes, and patterns are some of the ingredients for creating my paintings. Compiling a multitude of vibrant hues through taping, stenciling, and splattering methods enables me to design layers of compositions, beyond the traditional uses of colors and patterns. Acrylic paints give me the flexiblity to expand these applications. 

  Incorporating recognizable forms of African American influences adds to the design concepts that are intentionally expressed through color and symbolism, creating these unique, soulful , spirtual  and  " ethnic contemporary '' designs. "
